DR PETER CAMPBELL, Improvement Manager, Volgren, Australia

Dr Peter Campbell is the Victorian President of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and in 2007 he was awarded “Young Manufacturer of the Year” by the Victorian Government. Peter’s career in manufacturing began in 1999 with the S.T.A.M.P. Research Group (Ford Motor Company, Australian National University and Deakin University). Following this he completed his engineering PhD in production line management and lean manufacturing. As the Improvement Manager at Volgren, Peter manages improvements to all aspects of the business including production flow, cycle time, visual management, workforce education and training, safety and environment. He is currently working on leading the “20-Day Bus” project, aiming to slash bus throughput time from 40-50 days to just 20 days.
