John Hearsch has been an Australian railway and transport administrator for more than 50 years. Since beginning his career, he has fulfilled a variety of operational, administrative and managerial roles including Chief General Manager, Transport Operations of the State Transport Authority of Victoria and Group General Manager, Freight of Queensland Rail. Upon retiring from this position in 1998, John established his own consultancy specialising in railway and transportation management issues. His past and present clients include a number of major government and private sector organisations. John is a graduate in commerce and economics from the University of Melbourne and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
