JONATHAN VANDERVOORT, General Manager, Hunter Valley Coal Chain Logistics Team, Australia

Jonathan’s career began in 1985 as an accounting trainee at the Newcastle coal loader, Port Waratah Coal Services. In 2008 Jonathan set up his own consultancy practice to take up the role of General Manager, Hunter Valley Coal Chain Logistics Team, a group which plans and co-ordinates the movement of more than 100 million tonnes of coal from all Hunter Valley coal mines. With more than 15,000 train movements and 1,000 ships a year, it is the world’s largest export coal supply chain. Jonathan has recently presented at various coal and supply chain conferences on the benefits the Hunter Valley Coal Chain Logistics team provides in creating an integrated supply chain for the export of Hunter Valley coal.
