Speaker Bios and Abstracts

ANDREW DOWNARD, Research Student ILSCM, University of Victoria

SMART RESEARCH FORUM, Session 8, 1:30pm - 2:00pm

During his 35 years in the supply chain industry, Andrew Downard has worked in areas including military, automotives, distribution and logistics. Following his role at Nissan in Japan, where he was trained in Kaizen and Continuous Improvement techniques, Andrew worked in business development and strategic planning roles and more recently, as Managing Director of a supply chain consultancy, working with clients to improve supply chain operations. In this role, Andrew helped businesses develop their supply chain strategy, lean implementation, network design and sales and operations planning activities, with expertise in areas including risk management and supply chain relationship management. Andrew is currently undertaking research with the Institute of Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ILSCM) into Relationships in Supply Chains.
