Supply Chain Optimisation

The latest event in Smart’s Breakfast Series

SMART 2009 CONFERENCE - the largest supply chain conference in the region - is for the first time, holding informative breakfast seminars for topics that just can’t wait until June. Join us for the second in the series.

STRUCTURE, CONDUCT AND PERFORMANCE: Optimising Supply Chain Management

Guest Speaker: Dr Chris Dubelaar, Professor of Marketing, Bond University Queensland

Chris Dubelaar
Logisticians have long been told there is "one best way" to run their operations.  As a result, they have not looked into their operations in the same the way economists examine other industries. The relationships between structure, conduct and performance are key determinants in the success of logistics operations in businesses.

In this not to be missed presentation, Dr Dubelaar explain the importance of context when managing logistics and supply chain, and how to challenge existing structures to stay true to the strategic direction of the business.

Join us, for breakfast and discover:
ü      The importance of the link between structure, conduct, and performance and what happens if you get it right or wrong.
ü      Why what your competitors are doing may not be right for you.
ü      How to know if you've got it right!

Chris Dubelaar came to academia from GM Canada where he was an engineer. He has studied performance and performance measurement in all its guises, published papers in leading academic journals and presented at international conferences.  His recent concentration has been on performance measurement and technology implementation at many levels. He holds a BASc (Waterloo), MBA (Laurier) and PhD (Alberta). It was his MBA that convinced him to make the leap into marketing.
