    The evok3d 3D printing centre is co-located with Nissan Motorsport at Braeside Victoria. The evok3d team works closely with the Nismo race engineers utilising Professional 3D printers to build bespoke parts that provide the team with a competitive edge. Nissan Motorsports runs a 4 car team in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship, the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia’s biggest sports. The team has partnered with Melbourne-based evok3d to use Professional 3D printers to manufacture parts for their heavily modified Nissan Altimas, saving them the time and expense of making tooling to make parts. www.evok3d.com.au

Located in the heart of the City of Melbourne its state of the art design represented considerable logistics challenges to ensure each retail store can receive its goods when they are needed.  Unique to this type of shopping centre, The Melbourne Emporium has its 30 loading docks, located deep into the basement accessed by twin 12.5 meter truck lifts which work in tandem with a web based dock management system to maximise efficiency and provide a congestion free operation. www.emporiummelbourne.com.au/

     Devondale Murray Goulburn
    Devondale Murray Goulburn’s Laverton North facility is the home of Devondale’s daily pasteurised milk brand and the processing base for a ten-year agreement to supply more than 400 Coles stores with chilled milk for the retailer’s private labels. The plant is the first of its kind in the country and the most important dairy asset built in Australia in more than 15 years.The new site utilises world-leading technology and quality standards that assist in positioning Devondale Murray Goulburn as the nation’s most efficient producer of daily pasteurised milk – a market which currently utilises approximately 20 per cent of total Australian milk production.


    TOUR 3 KMART – Catch of the Day – Emporium Melbourne

    In February 2011 Kmart opened a 75,000 square metre purpose built DC in Truganina, this is a mixed flow site which handles both Pick & Pack and Cross dock. This DC has the capacity to receive containers direct from the wharf and is capable of storing over 300 twenty foot container equivalent units (TEU’s) on site.  In FY2015 this site will handle 5.1 million cartons in Pick & Pack, 13.5 million cartons through Cross Dock and will unpack 18.6 million cartons from nearly 20,000 TEU’s. The site will despatch close to 400,000 pallets of stock and be distributed to stores by our transport partners via road, rail and sea. www.kmart.com.auAdditional facts

    • The DC uses a $5.8m AUD Xbelt sorter to sort cartons, this sorter has 88 “declines”
    • The sorter can process 6,000 plus cartons per hour

    • ISOLoader straddle stacks containers 3 high in container park and handles up to 300 plus container movements per day in peak season
