Lindsay Fox AC, founder of Linfox, has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Supply Chain Management in Australia accolade at this year’s Smart Awards.
 
Lindsay Fox was presented with the award by Warwick Hughes, Chairman Smart 2009 Organising Committee, at the Supply Chain Industry Dinner and Smart Awards night at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, June 11, 2009 recognising his long term contributions to the logistics and supply chain industry in Australia and his ongoing leadership role within the transport and logistics community.
 
Lindsay Fox founded Linfox in 1956 with just one truck, and over 50 years has grown the company to be one of Australia’s largest transport and warehousing businesses with operations in 11 countries. He still maintains an active interest in the company and his son Peter Fox is the Executive Chairman. 
 
“Lindsay Fox AC has revolutionised the supply chain industry in Australia and the region during his 50 years in the business. He was an obvious choice to be awarded this, the highest accolade within the industry,” said Warwick Hughes, Chairman, Smart 2009 Organising Committee.
 
Previous recipients of the Smart Award for Outstanding Contribution to Supply Chain Management in Australia include Roger Corbett AM; Chris Corrigan, CEO, Patrick Corporation; Dr John Gattorna, Professor in Supply Chain Management and Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Lieutenant General Des Mueller, AO.
