"As the only supply chain awards run by the industry, for the industry, winners of the Smart awards in 2009 will enjoy prestigious recognition amongst their peers, competitors and customers," said Len harper, Chairman, Smart 2009 Awards Committee

The Smart Awards celebrate exceptional corporate and individual performance in key supply chain and logistics industry sectors.

As the only supply chain industry awards, judged by the major industry associations, the Smart 2009 Awards offer a chance for industry members to be recognised through a prestigious awards program which is both well respected and peer-reviewed.

The 2009 Awards will have a particular focus on innovation and new business strategy, as judges look for businesses who are addressing industry challenges in new and successful ways and who are leading their peers in areas such as corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

The awards will be presented at the Smart Supply Chain Industry Dinner in Sydney on Thursday 11 June 2009.  This is the industry's most prestigious gala event held during Smart 2009 Conference - over 600 people attended in 2007.

The Smart Awards criteria and rigorous judging processes will be managed by a committee comprising each of the industry organisations involved.
