Over the past two years Geoff has worked on the development of the Gippsland Logistics Precinct (GLP) which includes the re-establishment of the Gippsland Intermodal Freight Terminal (GIFT). Geoff’s work in this project involved detailed project planning, liaison with industry, state and federal government departments and the community. Following a career in private enterprise, including owning and operating a number of small businesses, Geoff has been employed in local government for the past twenty years. Geoff has a diverse history in project management with a particular emphasis on stakeholder management and has tertiary qualifications in business management and design.

Warren Angus is currently the General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Agility in Dubai and brings more than 10 years experience in forwarding and logistics to the company. In this position, Warren is responsible for the entire Sales and Marketing effort, covering freight management, contract logistics, project logistics and Middle East Distribution. Prior to joining Agility in 2009, Warren was based in New Zealand as National Sales Manager of a large multinational freight forwarder.

An update on developments impacting supply chain management in China

A  major trading partner for Australia, China continues to play a substantial role in global supply chains. Mark Millar is the Managing Director of M Power Associates, a specialist services provider of marketing, consulting and training solutions for the supply chain and logistics industry.
In his presentation, Mark Millar will explore some of the latest supply chain developments in China, including highlights of the logistics and transportation market, recent developments in infrastructure and customs regulations, and a case study on nationwide domestic distribution in the retail sector.

Mark’s international business development career spans more than 20 years, during which he has lived in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, USA, Ireland, China and Hong Kong. In China, Mark held executive positions at Platinum Logistix, ModusLink, Exel Contract Logistics and UPS Supply Chain Solutions. In Hong Kong, Mark is an elected Council Member at the Hong Kong Logistics Association and serves as Chair of the Logistics Committee at the British Chamber of Commerce. Whilst previously based in Shanghai, he served as Logistics Committee Vice Chair at the American Chamber of Commerce and as Honorary Chairman of the China Supply Chain Council.
